5 beauty saviours – beauty products review

It’s the Detox Part 2, and you know what that means… beauty products! Hopefully we’re all munching on those greens to achieve radiance from within, but the following 5 beauty saviours will help us fake it ’til we make it.

I would especially read on for the final little nugget – la pièce de résistance!

The Complexion Enhancer(s)
The best highlighters I’ve tried, based on texture and originality, are the Benefit High Beam and Moon Beam complexion enhancers. The first is described as luminescent, with a beautiful soft pinky tone which I would suggest works best with cool skintones, but is subtle enough that warm can get away with it as well. The latter is an iridescent shade and really unusual – it’s described as a ‘golden apricot’, with a light gold glow at first, but a fantastic peachy shimmer coming through as you turn in the light!
They retail at £18.50 each, so are a bit pricier but great to put on those birthday beauty wishlists!
For low-key luminosity, apply under your make-up to cheek and brow bones, or for a bit more bling, apply sparingly just after foundation.moon beam high beammoon beam high beam swatches

These two miniatures are actually part of the ‘Her Name Was Glowla’ kit. It seems to be largely sold out in the UK now, but you can still track them down on Ebay so I’ve included a pictures below. The set is basically a one-stop shop for all-over radiance and my personal go-to palette – it even includes theCoralista blush! Her Name Was Glowla

The Eye Shimmer
Une, Bourjois’ answer to organic cosmetics, makes the most delightful Glimmer Eyes Shadow, which is a cream-to-powder formula in a cute mirrored case. I find it easiest to apply this with my little finger, more heavily over the eyelid and in the corners of the eyes, then blending up to the brow bone to highlight (that is, of course, if you haven’t used your Benefit highlighters!).
It will set you back at £9.29, but is worth the price tag if you save it for your most radiant moments!Glimmer Eyes Shadow in G02 swatch

The Nail Saviour
I received the full size of Trind Nail Repair in Natural back in October’s Carmine Beauty Box, which alone retails at £12.95 – that’s the cost of the entire box! In just two weeks it will bring your nails back to tip-top condition, applying daily to strengthen their protein molecules and retain moisture. It also gives a glossy finish, giving you nicely polished nails even while they recover! This is the perfect product for the harsher months or for anyone with flaky nails, and they even do a variety of nude and pink colours if you’re getting varnish withdrawals!Trind Nail Repair in Natural

The Hair Reviver
I must give thanks to Best Free Beauty Samples for alerting me to a freebie that has changed my hair routine forever. If you don’t follow the site already, what are you waiting for?! As well as providing you with all the best product samples in one place, this beauty blog also gives away beauty boxes and £10 Benefit gift cards – put it towards that highlighter! But back to the product! It’s the Dead Sea Spa Magik Hair Serum, which you can buy here for £16.60.
This is best applied to wet hair and left for wrapped up for 5 minutes in either clingfilm (effort!) or a shower cap (much easier!). The scent is also absolutely gorgeous in my opinion,  very soft like a fluffy warm, aired towel, and will waft around you for a couple of days! The Pro-Vitamin B5 always leaves my hair incredibly smooth; it also feels thicker and easier to style as well, which certainly can’t be said for all conditioning treatments! The Hair Reviver
And finally…
The ‘Essential’ Oil
Now, as long as you don’t have severe acne, this product will change your life. It’s kind of a big deal, and I’m so excited to share it with anyone who hasn’t already experienced it! The product in question is Argan Oil, or more specifically for younger complexions, Narson Skin’s Spots & Blemishes Miracle Oil, which also contains rosewood, geranium extract, sunflower seed oil and hemp (but is 99% liquid gold!).
As a sufferer of moderate, but stubborn, acne, I’ve been through all the treatments from the doc’s, andall of them dry your skin out to within an inch of its life! This has particularly been a problem for me this winter, so when I stumbled across a voucher for £40 worth of products for just £5 on Wahanda, I decided I couldn’t go wrong in trying it!
I used it every night, and a little under my daily moisturiser, for about a week and got fantastic results! It cleared up my exam stress break out, minimised redness, and also took care of a lot of general skin redness which my sensitive complexion is prone to.
The high vitamin E content makes your skin incredibly soft; mine has never felt so nourished! I also added 100% Argan oil for my Mum as part of her Christmas pressie, and she already swears by it for it’s anti-ageing and nourishing properties.
If my Mum’s high opinion isn’t enough for you, though, it’s even been mentioned on the Vogue Beauty Blog by model Elsa Sylvan for winter skin protection!
You can also put it in body moisturiser for all over radiance – truly a skin detox product from the outside in! Really worth bringing into your life, and with only 2 drops needed per application, it will last for ages!Narson Skin's Spots & Blemishes Miracle Oil
So there you have it – 5 (in fact, 6!) spectacular detox beauty buys with two great beauty websites for discounts and freebies included! Bit of a long one, but hopefully worth it for the luxe, all-over glow you can achieve with these products!
