Haul: Lipcare and Cosmetics

Lipcare and Cosmetics haul

I almost don’t want to write this post because I sooo shouldn’t be spending!! But I needed a new mascara, so naturally had to pick up just a few other bits, too… The products were bought in France but, where possible, I’ve provided UK links. Read on for more info and ingredients lists.

Haul: Products bought

L’Oreal False Lashes Telescopic Mascara, £10.99

L'Oreal False Lashes Telescopic Mascara review

Already a fan of the Max Factor versions, I thought I’d give L’Oreal’s take on the false lash trend a whirl. I chose ‘Hypnotic Brown’ to suit my paley paleness. Like the look of the brush; looking forward to trying it!

bareMinerals Prime Time Foundation Primer, £19

This one was a repurchase: I’ve been really happy with the oil-free formula and smooth, silky texture. Smashbox has always been my go-to primer but a) you can’t find it in France, b) the ingredients are not as gentle as the bareMinerals formula and c) the latter lasts for a good 4-5 months with daily use, delivering down to the last pump.

Nuxe Rêve de Miel Lip Balm, £9.50

Nuxe Rêve de Miel Lip Balm review

Now, I admit this is a little pricey for a lip balm, but I just couldn’t help myself. I love the frosted glass packaging, the heavy weight, the soft texture, the instant nourishment, and especially the scent. A mixture of honey with overtones of passion fruit: it’s so unique and really is a ‘rêve’ (that’s ‘dream’ to you and me) to apply.

Bio Beauté by Nuxe Tinted Repairing Lip Balm, 8.15€

Bio Beauté by Nuxe Tinted Repairing Lip Balm review

Unfortunately, this isn’t available yet in the UK – though you can buy a selection of the new Bio range by Nuxe at Le Guide Santé. I am delighted with this purchase, because it’s the first colour lip product I’ve been able to buy since taking Roaccutane!
All of the ingredients are natural (see below) and the list reads like a super-nourishing lip balm (save for a little added perfume and, of course, colour). This product feels gorgeous on my lips and will be a little more glam for the evening than whacking out my stick balm. I went for the Rosy Peach shade which is a pretty, natural-looking almost terracotta shade. Lovely.

This was a little free gift that I received for purchasing a product from the Bio Beauté range – nice surprise! I never buy body exfoliators: I sort of find them too much effort and I have a body brush which, though admittedly less luxurious, is probably more effective than a scrub. But this makes the product a bit of a treat for me!
It contains apricot seeds and, of course, redcurrant pulp. Cor – just rubbed a bit on my hand and it smellsamazing. It has a definite pear scent and an oil-based application, which means that you’re not left with that dry skin feeling. I think I’ll enjoy using this little pressie!
