Look of the Day

 Chloé girls inspired look
Chloé: Spring
As all the Chloé girls were looking so beautifully luminous for Spring 2012, both on the catwalk and in their editorial shoots, I thought this would be the perfect trend to work into a LOTD! It’s so natural and fuss-free for a daytime look, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be feeling pretty or made-up! By enhancing your natural assets with a few highlighting products, you’ll leave the house feeling radiant, positive and perked up in the January lull!
Key products and tips
  • Cosmetics à la Carte Shine Illuminator (£35 – pricey!) – as some of you will already know, I received this as a sample size a couple of weeks ago. This is a great product that you can use as a primer for an all-over glow, with foundation to really shimmer, or use it as a highighter where desired. I tried the Rose Dew Primer but unfortunately it didn’t agree with my skin, so I’ve just used the Shine Illuminator as a spot highlighter so far, and love the results. In the photo below, this is what’s giving my cheeks that subtle shimmer!
  • Une Glimmer Eyes Shadow in T3 (£9.29) for highlighting the brow bone and eyelid (currently on a 2 for £15 offer at Boots), with The Body Shop Shimmer Cube Palette (£16 – worth the money; lasts forever!) in Warm, applied in corners and crease of eyelid.
  • Rimmel Soft Khol Kajal Eye Pencil in Stormy Grey (£2.99) – just a very subtle touch on your lower lash line, blended from the outer corner to halfway along for a touch of definition that will marry up nicely with the darker eye shade.
  • Light covering of Topshop Lip Stick in Coy for ultra-feminine colour, with a dab of pale pink Ciaté lipgloss over the top (£9; received free in magazine – a good alternative is Topshop Lip Glaze in Antique, £6).Chloé girls inspired makeupChloé girls inspired natural makeup

These photos don’t completely show the luminosity you can achieve – but as you can see foundation is kept very light (hello freckles!), with highlighting over the angles of the face and subtle shimmer as a key feature. If anyone’s interested in swatches, I’ll try to include the specific products in a future post – exams have left me a little short on time!
