Summer Spending – My fashion buys!

Summer Spending

Summer Spending - My fashion buys!

Last month I hit the big 2-1 so was feeling a little more flush than usual! I mainly took the opportunity for a bit of culture and popped to Amsterdam for a few days, which I’d also been saving for. Needless to say, it did not disappoint! However, I am still a (stereo)typical girl at heart. As such, a little extra cash tends to evoke the reaction “clothesmakeupbagsSHOOOES”.

So I went high street sale-ing, too! Well, I went shopping in general (ahem), but I love a good bargain so thought I’d dedicate this post to my thriftiest finds (with a little beauty treat at the end). David Dickinson eat your heart out…

Never Fully Dressed Jones Cardi and Waterfall Jacket

Never Fully Dressed: Jones Cardi and Waterfall Jacket

Never Fully Dressed has some cracking deals on at the moment. I’ve always loved their clothes, having discovered them at Portobello market a while back.

Over the past two years the label has gone from strength to strength and they launched a fantastic new site earlier this year. They’re one of those diamond independent businesses which still have the time to provide excellent customer service, and my items arrived quickly and without a fuss.

My one gripe with the brand is that it’s a little pricey (but it has the individuality to get away with it) so I jumped at the chance to hit the ‘Sales’ tab this time! I picked up the Jones Cardi in Sky Blue (£20 down from £36) and the Waterfall Jacket in Charcoal Grey (£26 down from £49), which will be perfect for my upcoming internship.

Total savings: £39. Cha-ching.

Fiorelli Antique Clasp Tote Bag

I also popped to Swindon’s Designer Outlet which, as I’ve mentioned before, has seriously progressed over the past few years. On my last visit I’d had my eye on the Fiorelli yellow totes and they’ve been on my mind ever since. For £34 down from £78 I thought I’d pick one up this time around!

I love a good yellow accessory – as a pasty blonde yellow is a difficult colour to wear, so instead I brighten up my outfits with a sunshine bag or shoe. It works in a surprising number of colour combinations, so I can see myself using this statement piece for a while to come.

Total savings: £44.

Levi's Ankle-Length Jeggings

I also had a little wander round the Levi’s outlet store. I have to admit, overall their women’s range is pretty poor. However, never one to be defeated by sparse shelves, I managed to uncover these cobalt blue beauties.

They are of the petite (/short-arse)-friendly 7/8 variety, with gold zip detailing at the inner ankles and a suuuuper blue colour. Best bit: they were £25 down from £60. Perfect transitional jeans which I can bolden up while it’s sunny and mute down with an army jacket and shoe boots as autumn rolls in.

Total savings: £35.

Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Booster & Dr. Jart+ Regenerating Beauty Balm

Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Booster & Dr. Jart+ Regenerating Beauty Balm

Finally, I couldn’t leave without whetting your beauty appetites with these little purchases that I’ll be reviewing in a couple of weeks!

As I’m sure you’re aware, the Dr Jart BB Creams are starting to buzz around beauty blogs at the moment. After some less-than-perfect experiences with the BB craze (Garnier, I’m looking at you), I’m really looking forward to wiping the slate clean and reviewing Dr J’s Regenerating variety. (They’re also £5 off in Boots at the moment, so now is a good time to buy!)

Another product that caught my eye was the Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Booster (£24.99) which is also on offer at Boots with a free Peptalash serum to strengthen lashes. I was already aware of the moisturising benefits of hyaluronic acid but have never seen it with such an affordable price tag. It makes some pretty hefty statements, so I’m looking forward to seeing if it lives up to the hype – especially as my skin is seriously parched at the moment!

Can you girls (or boys) top my bargain-hunting abilities? Let me know your stingiest buys of the summer!
