Monoprix Lait Corps Nourrissant review

Body care: Monoprix Lait Corps NourrissantMonoprix Lait Corps Nourrissant

Paris living is hyper-cher. As I desperately attempt to cover the rent of my apartment and avoid living in the ghetto (‘Read more’ for a little glimpse of my room!), cuts have to be made elsewhere. Thank God for Monoprix…

Shea butter and Argan oil for less than a fiver

At home it’s Palmers all the way: it’s great value, my most nourishing high street find, and smellsincredible. In Paris, it’s a little harder to find that quality at an affordable price. French skincare is without a doubt one of, if not the best. But the best comes with a hefty price tag!
This means that I often find myself forlornly passing by the shiny 30 euro shelves and picking up own-brand products instead. But when it comes to Monoprix, I can make an exception.

Monoprix Lait Corps Nourrissant

For those of you who don’t know, Monoprix is sort of the like M&S of France. Food, toiletries, clothes, homeware and electricals.. it’s all there, and all of a decent quality. There may not be any Percy Pigs, but the freshly-baked breads and patisseries just about make up for that!

As for their lait corps (or ‘body milk’), you get shea butter, argan oil, a hygienic bottle of 250ml… and all for under 5 euros! (3,25€, to be exact.)Monoprix Lait Corps review

First of all, I love the super-short list of ingredients. In fact, this is my favourite thing about French skincare in general. Yes, the alcohol finds its way in there (as it does in almost every non-bio product), but at least its not packed full of junk like most budget buys in the UK.
And high up on the list you also get super-nourishing glycerin, as well as body butters and nourising oils. The result: a budget buy with quality ingredients. It actually works!
This moisturiser is easily absorbed and smells fantastic all day long (the first day I wore it I kept getting wafts of almond-y, shea-y fragrance and couldn’t stop sniffing my forearms – totally Parisian chic, me).
So, if you beauty lovers ever find yourselves scraping together your final euros for a Nuxe body oil and foregoing your 5-a-day, stop with the suffering! Pop into Monoprix and you can have your gâteau and eat it, too.
And, as promised…
