Clinique Blended Face Powder and Brush review

Clinique Blended Face Powder and Brush in 20 Invisible Blend

Clinique Blended Face Powder and Brush in 20 Invisible Blend review

I purchased the Clinique Blended Face Powder in 20 Invisible Blend (RRP £20) after getting a sample of their Even Better Makeup. I’d been setting it with a different powder, but because the finish of the foundation is so natural it was difficult to achieve a non-cakey finish.

The lovely girl at my local Clinique counter had recommended the Blended powder, specifically in Invisible Blend, claiming that it doesn’t affect the colour of your foundation but provides a flawless finish, unifies your make-up and has the best staying power she’s experienced (she was also using this over the Even Better). In need of a new face powder anyway, I thought I may as well invest!

The Brush

First of all, this powder comes with a swivel brush. I love that it is both antibacterial and has a lid to keep it as hygienic as possible, as I’m slightly obsessive about keeping my brushes clean. Some have written it off, probably because it’s one of those secondary products which are admittedly often poor quality. However, I actually find this to be the perfect size to swivel into the product, tap off the excess and swirl over the face to achieve that flawless finish. It’s also sleek and compact, making it perfect for travelling.

The Powder

The powder itself is super, super fine, and really did sit fantastically over the Even Better foundation. In fact, it also sat perfectly over 3 other foundations in liquid and cream formulations, all with different finishes and coverages, so it has definitely been put through its paces! The colour has a very slight green tint, which admittedly doesn’t look hugely appealing but gives a really sophisticated finish; this is where its unifying qualities really shine.

The overall effect is a soft matte finish that still allows your skin’s natural glow to come through. Because the powder is so fine, it won’t cake or sit in any lines, either.

Clinique’s Blended Face Powder really lives up to its Invisible title as it is completely undetectable, while being the best skin-perfecting powder I’ve come across. I can’t sing its praises enough!
